Welcoming 3 New Brothers and a New Executive Committee

Last month, the Alpha Eta chapter officially initiated three young men. Congratulations to John Emory, Farhan Zaki and Ryan Brown! With the inclusion of these three brothers, the Alpha Eta chapter has officially reached the 1800’s for role numbers. We are happy to officially call them brothers and can’t wait to see who will join our ranks next semester.

Alpha Eta Chapter’s Future Depends on You!

As an alumnus, you may not have Alpha Eta Chapter at the top of your priority list. Maybe you’ve lost touch, maybe you’ve gotten caught up with your job, your family and a life of your own. There are many reasons you might not be as close to the chapter as you’d like, but there’s one big reason why you should be.

Without your help, there may not be an Alpha Eta Chapter.

Will You Help Us Reach the Finish Line?

Our gifts are coming in steadily, and we want to thank all our alumni who have make a contribution so far this giving year! Your support has been vital in maintaining our alumni relations program, upholding the rich Alpha Eta traditions for our undergrad chapter, and slowly making upgrades to the chapter house.

Brother Mark Heckmann ’11 to Launch Imagine Careers in April 2015

Today, there are numerous options for networking and searching for the right professional opportunity. LinkedIn. Ladders. Monster. The landscape of job-related technology solutions is overwhelming with each promising candidates a better, more fulfilling career. While many solutions can give job seekers a place to start, Brother Mark Heckmann ’11 has differentiated his technology by giving candidates a platform free of the biases of paid content. Beginning next month, with the launch of Imagine Careers (www.imaginecareers.com), professionals have an option to look for connections and opportunities based on relationships of trust.

New Successes Among The Undergraduate Chapter

We would like to thank all of our alumni for your continued support of our undergraduate chapter. We are especially appreciative as we have been the benefactors of several improvements to the house recently, including a transformation of the old bar area into a kitchenette complete with appliances. We are hopeful that you continue to see our growth and development as a testament to path created for us by previous generations of Beta on the Hill. We welcome you back anytime you are in town.

Directors, Specialists and Entrepreneurs … Meet Your Alpha Eta Network

“We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand fibers connect us with our fellow men; and among those fibers, as sympathetic threads, our actions run as causes, and they come back to us as effects.” (Herman Melville)

Do you have the latest information about who is doing what across our Alpha Eta Chapter brotherhood? Read the updates below. Then, let us know your goals and how your brothers can help you reach them in 2015.

Can You Help Us Find Paul, Bruce & Craig?

We need your help. Currently, we have email addresses for only 260 of our 924 active alumni. That is only 28%. We use email communication as a way to keep our brotherhood updated monthly about upcoming events, chapter news and the latest with our alumni. We also use it as a way to grow our annual fund to support our alumni relations program. Can anyone help us with the email addresses for Paul Siana ’84, Bruce St. Clair ’80 or Craig Lewis ’76?

Alpha Eta Celebrates 139 Years!

On December 23, 2014, our chapter marked its 139th year on the Denison campus (149 years not counting revocation of its charter and recolonization). We are proud that over those 139 years, we have grown to more than 1,800 Alpha Eta brothers. Isn’t this something to celebrate? So, we are asking for one gift from each of our brothers … a story. Just a few lines that describe one of the best times you had at Beta. Feel free to send a picture too. Click below to share your memories with your brothers.

Meet Our New Chapter President: Steven Hix ’16, a Man of Principle

It takes only a quick glance down through the LinkedIn profile of Steven Hix to know that this brother wants to go places. From vice president of public relations for the North American IFC and treasurer of the Denison University Council to an internship with the U.S. Senate and the top leadership position at Alpha Eta Chapter, Steven is quickly making a name for himself. Fortunately, he decided that Beta at Denison is one stop along the way. Click below to read more.
