Chapter Report

The Alpha Eta chapter had a multitude of successes across campus in the Fall ‘22 semester. In typical Alpha Eta fashion, the chapter maintained the highest GPA among Interfraternity Council (IFC) organizations, and was recognized at the 183rd General Fraternity Convention in August with the Virginia Tech Award for Academic Excellence. Additionally, the chapter earned 1st place overall at Delta Gamma Sorority’s annual Anchor Splash competition, putting on a thrilling doctor-themed dance performance and raising the most money out of IFC organizations! The chapter also welcomes our newest member, Luka Bagashvili ‘25. The chapter completed plaster renovations in the basement space after burst pipes led to extensive water damage.

Outside of the classroom, Alpha Eta brothers continue to show up as campus leaders. Aaron Skubby ‘23 stepped down after serving as Editor-in-Chief of The Denisonian for two straight years and completed his term as IFC President. The past three IFC President’s have been from the Alpha Eta chapter. AJ Hartwick ‘25 served as Vice President of the Denison Campus Governance Association (DCGA) and Mac Hammett ‘23 and Daniel Seely ‘23 represented the senior class on DCGA. Tait Ferguson ‘23 stepped down after six semesters leading the nonpartisan civic engagement initiative on campus, DU Votes. In 2022, Denison was selected as the #1 school in the country for college voting advocacy by the Washington Monthly magazine for the work of DU Votes. Several brothers continue to serve as Community Advisors, Teaching Assistants, members of campus governance councils, and summer and senior researchers! The chapter also has brothers competing on the Tennis, Cross Country, and Track & Field varsity teams. Shout out to Jacob Brown ‘24 who broke the school record for the Decathlon!

The Alpha Eta chapter continues to foster academic excellence and produce campus leaders at Denison. With a fresh Executive Board beginning their work, we cannot wait to see what the spring semester holds for the chapter and its members!
